Case Network 3: Machine tools

The project partners ONA and ROBOCONCEPT will be the key participants in the implementation of the third Case Network, that operates in the fields of machinery and robotics.

ONA is a builder of electroerosion (EDM) machines, that operates both as a machinery OEM and as a machinery provider for many diverse sectors (offering production systems in cooperation with other complementary equipment manufacturers). ROBOCONCEPT is a company providing automation services mainly based on high speed pick-and-place robots. It provides solutions for automation of diverse sectors: food industry, cosmetics, metal working, etc.

Nowadays the increasingly needs of the clients of manufacturing equipment are not satisfied by the isolated solutions of single machinery suppliers. In order to answer to those needs the providers have to combine solutions from different suppliers in an efficient way in time, cost, quality and performance. New business models are appearing and this task is not easy for SME companies.

ONA and Roboconcept, as partners in the Net-Challenge project, are involved in this business case offering complementary manufacturing systems, that have a high potential of integration to fulfil their final clients requirements. But they will involve as well the increasing list of companies with whom they collaborate to fulfil those final clients requirements. This is a big partner network of different kinds of subsystems including hardware and software, such as, transport systems, pallet systems, storage systems, artificial vision systems, other machinery for assembly, packaging, quality inspection and measurement, etc.
