Case Network 1: Textile and apparel

The first Case Network for the Net-Challenge project operates in the Textile and Apparel sector in Portugal and includes the project partners RPB and Riopele and their key business partners.

RPB develops new collections, promotes brands and manage a network of specialized companies to respond to market demands. Riopele produces high quality fabrics for several applications, including high fashion and technical applications and is a key partner in the RPB business strategy.

RPB and Riopele recognise the importance of business networking and want to improve its effectiveness in creating and operating highly dynamic networks within this business network, applying the Net-Challenge Methodologies and Decision Support Tools. The Case will include the complete value chain from spinning, weaving, cutting, making and finishing. New strategies like the buying of white fabrics that can be customized and finished to produce different products with short delivery times and reduced costs, due to the larger quantities involved and longer buying plans. The trend for complex products, including wearable technologies is also an important aspect for future success in this market, which is an important requirement for this Business.
