CENI

CENI - Centro de Integração e Inovação de Processos, Assoc.I&D is a private, non profit R&D association. Started in the IPS - Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, as a research group, it was formally created in May 2007 as a R&D association for applied research in the area of Industrial Logistics and Organisational Processes. CENI’s activity spreads across the following scientific and technological topics: Simulation of manufacturing systems; Production and process planning; Analysis of materials flow and energy; Product lifecycle management; Environmental, quality and safety; Process mapping; Maintenance; Performance measurement and evaluation.

CENI collaborates with higher education institutions, industrial companies, technology oriented and sectorial organisations to develop research projects and strategic knowledge transfer activities aimed at improving the qualification of human resources processes and technology development. Other associates of CENI, besides IPS (a higher education institution) are relevant companies from different industrial sectors:  SECIL (cement  producer), CITRI  (industrial waste management and processing), Pioneer Technology Portugal, S.A. (automobile components manufacturing), Simante 2000 - Manutenção Industrial (maintenance and automation), Microsoft (information technology), OM2A - Arquitectura e Urbanismo, Lda (factory design and architecture) and Sapalsado – Soc.Aquícola do Sado Lda (aquaculture).
